25 arrested in Limpopo for torching taverns and liqour warehouse

25 people have been arrested on charges of public violence, malicious damage to property and arson in Mecklenburg on Friday.

LIMPOPO – 25 people have been arrested on charges of public  violence, malicious damage to property and arson in Mecklenburg on Friday.

This was after the angry mob set alight two taverns and a truck belonging to a liquor warehouse Thursday night and Friday morning said provincial spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

“The community is accusing the owner of the taverns of  murdering a young woman approximately two weeks ago.”

“Initially her ex boyfriend was arrested but could not be connected due to lack of evidence. The community is now suspecting the businessman,” said Otto.

Nobody was injured during the violence. 

The suspects will appear before the court on Monday.
