Lucky customer drives off in a brand new car in competition

'I thank the winner for being a customer at our store; this competition is a way of giving back to our customers' spar manager, Henry Boje

POLOKWANE – A YOUNG mother thought competitions at supermarkets were just gimmicks to lure more customers, but she now believes that those competitions are real after she received a call that changed her life recently.

Dimakatso Dease (29) an employee at Capricorn District Municipality, says winning a car is a blessing from the Almighty, she never believed in competitions, she was only trying her luck.

A customer at Spar supermarket on the corner of Thabo Mbeki and Biccard Street in Polokwane, she entered the competition around March or April and received a call from Spar on May 18 notifying her that she had won.

“I was so excited, I thought it was a dream, I then realised that nothing is impossible with God, this was just a blessing in disguise,” she says.

She explained that she bought a PS chocolate to enter the competition, she filled in the slip as required to enter into the competition and placed the slip in the competition box.

“Little did I know that that chocolate would give me a Hyundai i 10 car.”

Spar manager, Henry Boje, congratulated Dease, who was selected out of many entries.

He said this was the last car to be won out of 800 Spars countrywide.

“I thank the winner for being a customer at our store; this competition is a way of giving back to our customers,” he said.

Dease, accompanied by her husband and family, could not contain her excitement when the manager handed over the keys of her brand new car.
