MOKOPANE – AFTER numerous robberies over the weekend on the corner of Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki Drive, Marcelle Maritz, DA ward councilor of Ward 32 and Andy Goetsch, chairperson of the community policing forum (CPF), took action on Monday morning in an attempt to warn all by-passers to be alert.

“We ask the community and motorists passing through our town to lock their car doors and keep their windows closed at all times, especially when they pass by the robot on the corner of Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki drive.

“We appeal to everyone who has fallen victim to these robberies to please report them at the Mokopane police station so that the police can keep track of the amount of robberies that have taken place at the intersection,” said Goetsch and Maritz.

They told Bosveld on Monday afternoon that they were going to put up signs in Thabo Mbeki Drive to warn all motorists to lock their doors and to be aware of any suspicious suspects.

They said they planned to have the signs up in the next two weeks.

They added that they would also speak to the Mokopane police to sharpen up security in that area.
