LIMPOPO – COL Willy Mushwana has been appointed as the new station commander for Ritavi police station.

Mushwana was appointed to lead the station, which serves an area which has become a crime hot spot in the past few years.

Ritavi is one of seven police stations which form the Tzaneen cluster.

Mushwana, who hails from NkowaNkowa, has assured residence of Ritavi that he will deal head-on with all types of crime. He called on his colleagues and the community to work hand-in-hand to rid Ritavi of any criminal elements.

“We call on the community to assist the police in their fight against crime by reporting every criminal activity in their villages and townships,” Mushwana said. Tzaneen police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, said the new station commander had already met with communities to listen to their problem as far as crime was concerned. Among the areas he had already visited was Lephepane village.

Mushwana will interact with all stakeholders including traditional authorities, community police forums, business communities and justice cluster departments, said Ngoepe.

Mushwana said he would leave no stone unturned to make sure communities lived in a safer environment.
