N1 accident claims 3 lives

LIMPOPO – Accident that occurred between two vehicles on the N1 between Modimolle and Mookgophong claimed three lives.

At 12:02 today, a temporary road closure was reported by provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto. She advised motorists travelling in that direction to make use of the alternative R101 road.

According to WO George Ledwaba, spokesperson for the Mookgophong police station, the driver of the Hyundai i10, lost control and collided with an oncoming vehicle when a tyre burst.

“The driver and two passengers in the Hyundai i10 died on the scene, the driver in the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries”

“A case of culpable homicide has been opened and a thorough investigation is on-going,” said Ledwaba.
