POLOKWANE – Elderly people at Vergeet-my-nie Centre, Martha Hofmeyr hosted a bazaar on Saturday. Food, baked goods and hand knitted clothing were sold during the bazaar.
The items offered for sale were made by the residents of the centre. Annelese Bothma, manager at the centre, expressed her gratitude towards volunteers who assisted with pancakes and other baked goods.
“All the money raised during the bazaar is going towards our project that will help the 98 residents at the centre,” she says. The baked goods were the most popular items by far, most people said the cookies would go well with tea or coffee as it was a cold day.
