MOKOPANE – SOLDIERS, policemen, fashion models and doctors were only a few of the career choices 98 gr. R to gr. 3 learners of Mokopane English Combined School (MECS) dressed up as last Friday during their career dress-up party.

The learners were judged on their costumes by residents of the Piet Potgieter Monument Old Age Home and the three best dressed boys and girls were awarded with nice presents.

“It was really a difficult choice to make, as all of the learners put so much effort into their costumes and they all looked so lovely,” said Jackie Venter, one of the judges.

Christa Weideman, teacher, said: “this day is held as a fundraiser for the gr. 12 fund and it also caters for a lot of fun and excitement”. After the winners were announced, each learner received a delicious lunch and spent the rest of the having fun in the sun with their friends.
