SPCA Shop takes shape

The committee of the SPCA Polokwane would like to thank the readers who donated items for their new second-hand shop.

POLOKWANE – The committee of the SPCA Polokwane would like to thank the readers who donated items for their new second-hand shop.

“We still need a lot more and it will be an ongoing plea to the public to assist us with donations to keep the shop up and running,” said Tania le Roux, one of the committee members. “The shop had no floor, that was our first challenge because without a floor there can be no progress. We would like to thank Timene Kartus-Watt from Rokkon Development for her assistance in this matter. The floor will be installed during the next week after which we can start with fittings and moving in stock.”

They urgently need book-cases and/or steel shelving for the shop. They will always need clothing, books, toys, electrical equipment or anything that the public want to donate. They also need three large storage bins that will be earmarked for donations once the shop is open, one will be for food donations for the SPCA, the second for their feral cat Project and the third for their outreach projects.

Once the shop has opened, all donations will be accepted at the shop, but donations can be dropped off at Polokwane SPCA or at Polokwane Civil Airport in the meantime.

To make a R20 donation to the shop, SMS ‘shop’ to 40741.

Volunteers are also needed to work on Sunday mornings, as well as any time during the week. A short CV can be faxed to: 086 668 0585 or e-mailed to shopspca@gmail.com.

A computer or laptop and small printer for recordkeeping in the shop is also needed.
