LIMPOPO – LEARNERS of Mahwasane Primary School in Muledane near Thohoyandou will no longer have to use outdated and hazardous toilets, thanks to CTM Thohoyandou for donating new toilet sets.

The hand-over ceremony was held last Wednesday at CTM Thohoyandou, where some members of the school governing body (SGB) attended.

“We used to rely on the few toilets from our school for learners and teachers and some old and health hazardous toilets were no longer conducive for us. The school was adopted by CTM Thohoyandou in 2011 and since then, the school is changing for the better,” said Atonia Tshamano, the principal of Mahwasane.

According to Tshamano, the education of children was a societal responsibility, as well as a governmental one, and if more companies got involved with the improvements of schools through donations like CTM, the learners would definitely prosper.

She said they were thankful for the six new toilet sets, which would replace the outdated ones.

Sales manager for CTM Thohoyandou, Mmboniseni Mauda, said he saw the situation at Mahwasane during a visit after the company adopted the school and decided to help where possible so the learners could realise their dreams and work towards a brighter future.

“Children are South Africa’s future leaders and if we invest in them, we’ll have some reliable customers in the future,” said Mauda.
