Four die in minibus taxi accident

LIMPOPO – THE R101 road 10km north of Mookgophong was the scene of an accident that left four people dead on Monday.

According to transport spokesperson, Kagiso Mootane, the driver of a minibus taxi lost control of his vehicle after a tyre burst, resulting in the vehicle smashing into a tree.

Mootane said while the driver and three passengers sustained minor injuries, the rest of the passengers were seriously injured and were taken to hospital.

The R101 was closed for several hours as traffic officials and paramedics attended to the accident.
