4 arrested: Stolen goods found

During the early hours of Tuesday, the police, members of the provincial tracking team and flying squad followed up on information received and arrested four suspects.

POLOKWANE – During the early hours of Tuesday, the police, members of the provincial tracking team and flying squad followed up on information received and arrested four suspects.

According to provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronél Otto, it was believed that the suspects were on their way to commit a robbery in Lebowakgomo when they were apprehended at a filling station just outside the city.

At the time ocf the arrests, several items were confiscated, including:

• An unlicenced 9mm firearm.

• Ammunition.

• Housebreaking equipment including crowbars, pliers and skrewdrivers.

• Several knives.

The police also confiscated several suspected stolen items, including laptops, expensive watches and sound systems.

The four men were due to appear before the Polokwane magistrate’s court on Thursday.

According to Otto, the suspects could possibly be linked to other crimes in the province.
