According to Ekurhuleni metro police, a government employee has been caught speeding, she was travelling at 224km/h in a BMW on the N12 freeway in Alberton, Ekurhuleni metro police said on Sunday.
spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said the 34-year old female government employee spent the night behind bars, after she said she was speeding as she was late for work.
The government employee was one of six speedsters caught in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The five others were caught after being clocked at speeds between 164 and 196km/h.
