Eleven farm workers died in an accident on the R573 in Limpopo - between Marble Hall and Mutse - last night.
LIMPOPO – Eleven farm workers died in an accident on the R573 in Limpopo – between Marble Hall and Mutse – last night.
According to Limpopo Traffic spokesperson, Kagiso Mootane preliminary reports show that the accident was caused by wreckless and negligent driving.
“The driver of a Toyota Fortuner overtook a truck and collided with oncoming traffic” said Mootane.
Three others were critically injured in the accident.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide as well as wreckless and negligent driving after the driver of an SUV allegedly ran off shortly after the accident.
Mootane says the farm workers were en route back from a local soccer match when an SUV collided with the vehicle they were driving in.
“Police are searching for the driver of the SUV,” Mootane said.
