Top honours for circuit

THE Bahlaloga education circuit held its excellence awards for primary and secondary school learners and teachers at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Indoor Sports Complex in Seshego on Friday.

SESHEGO – THE Bahlaloga education circuit held its excellence awards for primary and secondary school learners and teachers at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Indoor Sports Complex in Seshego on Friday.

The theme of the awards ceremony was the transformative power of willingness to learn, grow and improve.

According to Bahlaloga education circuit manager, Ziphorah Mphahlele, the main aim of the evening was to boost the morale of education, learners and teachers. “It serves as motivation and we appreciate their efforts in terms of performance. The circuit has an incubator programme where we target the top learners in the circuit. We also identify underachievers and work with them. The learners also have a declaration of commitment that they attest to in front of their parents, and this also helps a lot. We are there to help them whenever they need our help,” Mphahlele said.

She said the sole purpose of the ceremony was to recognise and encourage the performance of learners and teachers on the 2014 matric results. “While we are consciously aware of the fact that our performance does not yet fit in the category of excellence, we consider this ceremony as a springboard for excellent performance in 2015. We need to redouble our efforts to get the parents fully committed to support the teachers,” she said.

She further said she believed the ceremony would serve as a source of inspiration to learners.

“As we jointly display honest commitment to enriching team spirit we will yield fruits of high quality learners. I encourage those schools who didn’t perform well in the 2014 matric examinations to try until they succeed because nothing is impossible.”
