Pedestrian knocked down by vehicle
A man was injured during a pedestrian accident on Marshall Street near Bok Street in Polokwane earlier today.
POLOKWANE – A man was injured during a pedestrian accident on Marshall Street near Bok Street in Polokwane earlier today.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found a fifty-four-year-old man lying next to the side of the road, after he was assisted by members of the public from the roadway to the side of the road.
Reports from the scene indicate that the man was busy crossing the road when he was knocked over by a motor vehicle. However, exact detail surrounding the cause of the pedestrian accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Upon assessment of the injured pedestrian, paramedics found that the man had sustained moderate injuries during the accident and after receiving treatment at the scene, the injured patient was transported to hospital for further medical care.
The occupants of the motor vehicle were not injured during the accident and traffic was slightly affected as a result of the accident.
