Westenburg residents have mini-bazaar fun

Westenburg residents enjoyed a family fun day in the community park during the Westenburg Community Police Forum's (WCPF) mini-bazaar on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – Westenburg residents enjoyed a family fun day in the community park during the Westenburg Community Police Forum’s (WCPF) mini-bazaar on Saturday.

There was a jumping castle for the children and a colouring-in competition. The children paid R25 to enter the competition and each received a party pack for participating.

There were five different categories: two to three years old, four to five years, six to seven years, eight to nine years and 10 years old. The winners of each category received an art set and a colouring-in book.

The community donated toys to be sold at the bazaar. These toys were used in a lucky draw for the children and there were more than 100 toys up for grabs.

There were different stalls selling a variety of foods, which ranged from hotdogs, vetkoek and mince, cakes, biscuits and tarts. There was also a books and clothing stall.

The stall owners paid R200 per stall in order to sell their goods at the bazaar.

DJ Smokey provided the entertainment throughout the day.

Allister Loubcher, chairperson of WCPF, said the money raised at the bazaar would go towards the No More Crime initiative with the aim to make a difference in Westenburg.

This effort is to get the necessary equipment required for patrols by the WCPF, he said.

Loubcher thanked the community and sponsors for their support.

“Without the community’s support, this day would not have been possible. We would like to thank DJ Smokey for entertaining the bazaar goers free of charge and our main sponsors for the day, Zellie and Desmond Whitehead, Son’s Tavern and Angelz Parties.”
