POLOKWANE – The young patients in the Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) ward at the Pietersburg Provincial Hospital enjoyed a colourful day last Tuesday.

Cansa Polokwane personnel and volunteers visited the TLC ward and sprayed the children’s and their parents’ hair as part of the Cansa Shavathon initiative.

Afterwards they feasted on delicious ice cream sponsored by the Frigella Ice-Cream Factory.

Squeals of laughter could be heard as the children had their hair sprayed. With colourful heads, decorated in brightly coloured shapes and patterns, the children enjoyed every moment.

Bobby Were, TLC facilitator, said tithe children’s faces lit up when he told them that they could spray his hair.

“These children are having a tough time and these kinds of treats are good for them. They love all the attention,” he said.
