Achieve all your goals

AFTER the festivities of the holidays we might feel that our bodies resemble something close to a pot-bellied pig and we cannot get to gym soon enough, said Solana du Plessis, a master personal trainer of Mokopane.

MOKOPANE – AFTER the festivities of the holidays we might feel that our bodies resemble something close to a pot-bellied pig and we cannot get to gym soon enough, said Solana du Plessis, a master personal trainer of Mokopane.

“Unfortunately a lot of people will simply not keep up with their new year’s resolution of getting their physiques transformed for the better. Do not fear, it’s definitely not an unachievable goal.”

Tips from Solana to keep you on track.

Set an attainable goal:

Resolving never to eat your favourite food again is setting you up to fail.

Forget about fad diets promising you to lose an enormous amount of weight in two weeks time. Instead, strive for something that is more attainable, such as following a well-balanced nutrition plan.

Learn more:

Knowledge is key when it comes to starting something new. It might be overwhelming, but being well informed will keep you sticking to a sound fitness and nutrition program.

Plan ahead:

When you found the perfect attainable program to follow, it is important to plan ahead. Pack your gym bag, make sure you have healthy food in your fridge and prepare your meals in advance if necessary. This way it will be much easier to follow through with your program.

Track your progress:

The best way to know if you are making any progress is to keep track of it. Also, keep track of your activities and what you have eaten during the day. When you reach your goal date and you did not achieve favourable results, you will be able to see what changes need to be made going forward.

Be consistent:

Consistency is probably the most important rule of making a lifestyle change. Stick to your plan and be patient.
