Tablers elect new chair
The Round Table 22 also announced its new chairperson and committee.
POLOKWANE – Round Table 22, a men’s social networking and charity organisation and one of two in the city, held its 61st annual general meeting at the Pietersburg Club last Wednesday evening.
The organisation also announced its new chairperson and committee. Accountant Dawid van der Walt was chosen as chairperson.
Van der Walt grew up in Polokwane, and studied to be an accountant at the University of North West’s Potchefstroom campus. Van der Walt said after his studies he worked in Pretoria before returning to Polokwane.
He joined Round Table 22 in 2011.
“Our organisation experienced a very good financial year and from my perspective we are going to aim to reach our financial goals this year too with the various annual charity events we will host.
“It is also important that we make good profits as there are many charity organisations and events we contribute to in our community, which is why it is important for us to excel in this,” he explained.
He added that there was a strong camaraderie among members.
