Exciting flea market venture for city

POLOKWANE – A flea market as intervention strategy to offer small businesses a platform sell their goods and services, thus exposing them to a bigger possible market, will kick off soon at the civic centre park on the corner of Thabo Mbeki and Landdros MarĂ© Street.

The Polokwane Municipality will host these markets free of charge for the first three months in order to empower small business owners to get a foot in the door. From the end of March onward, entrepreneurs will have to pay for stalls.

This initiative is an outcome of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) that took place in November last year.

The market will be known as The Park Flea Market and set up in the park on the last Friday and Saturday of every month. Arts and crafts, souvenirs, food, modern accessories, traditional accessories and traditional attire will be some of the items on sale that residents can look forward to.
