POLOKWANE – The MGM Motors dealership for Land Rover, Volvo and Jaguar have a new dealer principal at the helm with effect from Monday January 12.
Francois Heystek brings his vast experience in the motor industry to MGM Motors. He has been in the industry for over 16 years with Land Rover and 14 years as a dealer principal for Land Rover in Johannesburg. “I have no doubt that the MGM Motors personnel are all excellent in their duties. I want to pull them even closer together as a team through my leadership skills. Once I have managed that, we as MGM Motors can aim for my vision. And that is to become the top dealership for 2015,” Heystek said.
He said he was determined to grow MGM Motors financially.
Concerning MGM Motors’ valued customers, Heystek said MGM Motors would continue to deliver excellent service. “In my opinion it is thanks to our valued clients that we exist. And therefore is it important to create a customer care environment for clients to look after their needs and to let them feel important,” Heystek said.
His passion for cars, especially for the Land Rover brand, comes from his childhood days when his father used to drive a Land Rover. Heystek added that he was just as passionate about the Volvo and Jaguar brands.
“I am very excited because of the new Jaguar XE-model range, the new Land Rover Discovery Sport and Volvo’s new XC90 luxury SUV and V40 Cross Country models that will be launched during the course of 2015,” he said.
Heystek said his sales career started in a completely different environment, namely the tobacco industry.
“Although it is different to the motoring industry, it still came down to the same principle and that was the way one dealt with people. To me that was never a concern because I am passionate about people and that is a requirement in any sales industry. Honestly said, I always believe in giving more and to be fully committed in everything I do, and that is how I have reached the goals I have set myself. But the world of sales is certainly a passion for me,” Heystek said.
Heystek added that he believed a person should have life philosophies to determine one’s destiny, especially in one’s career. “First set a goal and aim to achieve it. Secondly, keep raising the bar to success. Thirdly, mediocrity should never be tolerated, always give 100% in everything you do, and that goes for client service too,” he advised.
He said for him and his wife, Lindie, and their two daughters, Chané and Lianay, this was a fresh new start, and added that the more mature a person became, the more sensible one was with one’s decision-making.
