Christmas message by the MEC for health, Ishmael Kgetjepe

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. Ishmael Kgetjepe, MEC for health

WE are once again at the end of yet another hectic and exciting year, 2014, which was full of remarkable stories of human endeavor. This is a special time of the year where many of us have the opportunity to celebrate with friends and families.

As we welcome the Christmas and end-of-year season, we should happily do so secure in our minds that the department always endeavors to provide the necessary healthcare to the masses of our people in Limpopo. As a department, Christmas certainly reminds us of the ideals and virtue of service to humanity. It reminds us of our unwavering commitment to heal our people, save lives and improve the lives of citizens for the better as we give more resonance to the fact that indeed South Africa today is much better than it was before 1994.

Christmas is a time to reflect and rejoice and we are reminded to spread the message of love and mercy. We are reminded to serve humanity and spread peace. Let the spirit of caring for one another be rekindled in our respective communities. Let us, in the spirit of Christmas, extend a hand to the needy, vulnerable and those less fortunate than we are.

For most of our workers who are on the front line of service delivery, there will be no ample time with their families and friends.

I also say thanks to those working in our emergency services, where Christmas is not a holiday. Their hard work and commitment continues to benefit us all year round and this time will not be any different.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year
