A special message from COGHSTA MEC Makoma Makhurupetje

I WOULD like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our shareholders, personnel, management, partners and beneficiaries for your continued support and commitment.

With you by our side, the department of cooperative governance, human settlements and traditional affairs (Coghsta), is a multi award-winning department with various accolades such as the PMR award, first overall Outstanding Diamond Award for the provincial department doing the most to accelerate service delivery, a SAIGA Award, and a clean audit.

Since 1994 the department built and handed over 250 000 housing units to no less than one million households in the province.

Central to this work is the realisation of integrated and sustainable human settlements. This is, as we always say, “where you live is where you must work, recreate, go to church, do shopping, get entertained”, and so on.

The department is committed to build 2 121 rental units (community residential units and social housing projects) by March 2017.
