Relief for clinics thanks to generous bank donation

This is part of Nedbank’s festive season charity drive towards foundations that support people with disabilities, vulnerable children, senior citizens and women who are affected by abuse.

“Social responsibility is everyone’s responsibility. Nedbank enables employees and clients to be responsible and leave a legacy by contributing to causes that are close to their hearts. We want to make a difference in the communities we serve,” said Kone Gugushe, divisional executive for corporate social investment at Nedbank.

“The success of our country is inseparable from the well-being of its people, that is why we invest in sustainable initiatives for thriving communities,” said Gugushe.

She said the bank made donation to charity organisations annually and this year’s criteria was World Aids Day, 16 Days For No Violence Against Women and Children and people with disabilities.

“We encourage people to participate in any affinity programme close to their hearts.”

According to group communications officer, Lesiba Sethoga, the bank handed over an edutainer, a shipping container converted into a classroom, worth R300 000 to Paledi Daycare Centre for disabled children outside Polokwane.

He said the bank believed that people needed to work together to build a better future for the most vulnerable members of society.
