The body of Oupa Motsepe (44) was found with head injuries and a stab wound in the chest.

The police have since opened an inquest. Marble Hall police spokesperson, Lethunya Muroa, said the motive for the murder was not known.

“We are awaiting the results of the post-mortem. Anyone with information can contact the nearest police station,” he said.

He said the police needed assistance in finding out the identity of the perpetrators of an armed robbery at a house in Toitskraal near Marble Hall on November 28.

He said the victims were asleep when the robbers entered in the house, and two of the three men had firearms with them.

“The suspects tied the victims up with wire before they robbed them of valuable items including a TV, cell phones, jewellery, two firearms, ammunition and an undisclosed amount of cash,” Muroa said.

He further said the 61-year-old owner of the house was injured during the robbery as he was assaulted by the suspects.
