A man has been sentenced to three life terms after being convicted of killing three elderly relatives he accused of witchcraft.

POLOKWANE – A man has been sentenced to three life terms after being convicted of killing three elderly relatives he accused of witchcraft.

Daniel Modipi (39) was sentenced in the Polokwane High Court yesterday, said Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi today.

“Modipi, from Diphale Village in Mecklenburg … was found guilty of the June 2013 brutal murders of his grandmother Sinah Modipi (81) [and] his two aunts Lydia and Christine Modipi, aged 60 and 71 years respectively.”

Modipi had accused the three women of witchcraft after his brother was found dead, hanging from a tree, a few months earlier.
