Senzo murder suspects appear in court

Limpopo police confirmed that the two men matching the Senzo murderers will be transported to Gauteng later today

While both national and provincial police maintain that no arrests were made at Beit Bridge on the border with Zimbabwe in connection with Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa’s murder, the National Prosecuting Authority confirmed that a suspect had been arrested and appeared in court today.
Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Nathi Mncube said the suspect had been arrested in connection with the murder and robbery of Meyiwa.
Mncube said the suspect had been identified as Zanokuhle Mbatha (25), who appeared in Boksburg Magistrates’ Court briefly today.
“He will be back in court on 11 November,” said Mncube.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Neville Malila maintained that no arrests had been made.
“I still maintain that no arrests have been made. We don’t have [anybody],” Malila said.
He said investigations were continuing.
Limpopo police spokesperson Ronel Otto told the SA Press Association that  she was not aware of any arrests.
Meyiwa, who was also the Orlando Pirates captain, was killed when two attackers entered Khumalo’s house around 8pm on Sunday.
They apparently demanded cellphones and money. One cellphone was stolen. The men then fled the scene on foot.
