Radzilani elected chair of ANCWL in Vhembe

FORMER safety, security and liaison MEC, Florence Radzilani, was elected chairperson of the ANC Women's League (ANCWL) in the Vhembe region

FORMER safety, security and liaison MEC, Florence Radzilani, was elected chairperson of the ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) in the Vhembe region during their conference held at Muofhe Graceland over the weekend.

Radzilani said she intended to work hand in hand with ANC regional structures and unite the different branches of the ANC. “We will respect the mandate given to us by the conference, including ensuring that we have ANCWL branches that are functional, and that understand the real issues affecting our communities. The women’s league will plead with the ANC in the region to offer support to all women deployed in senior political positions,” Radzilani said.

Radzilani, who also served as Vhembe mayor four years ago, said the ANCWL would strongly oppose the reshuffling of mayors because it negatively affected the delivery of services to communities. Radzilani’s deputy chairperson is |Mithloti Ramoyada with Thina Mbedzi as secretary and Molly Mabasa as treasurer.
