POLOKWANE – Most gr. 12 learners started with their senior certificate examinations this week.
Review asked residents what they thought learners should do to pass their examinations.
Karabo Mahlangu said learners should focus on their studies and consult their teachers if they had any problems.
Dineo Chuene said to avoid a lot of pressure that could result in poor performance, learners should not focus all their attention on the things that they did not understand, but rather concentrate on the work that they did understand.
Mapula Mamanyoga said time management would go a long way. She explained that parents should give their children time off from doing household chores so that they could focus on their studies.
Rachel Motupa said learners should stay away from social network sites as these might distract them during their study time.
“Social networks are of no use during this period.
“I urge learners to put their cell phones away until they finish their examinations.”
Tshidi Chuene said the teachers had done their part and the ball was now in the learners’ court. “Learners should form group discussions to tackle the chapters they think are more complex,” she suggested.
Lesiba Manaka said learners should stop going to taverns and focus on their books. He also urged them to pray for success.
