Premier, Stanley Mathabatha officially welcomed the South African national soccer team, Bafana Bafana, and the Congo Brazzaville national team to Polo-kwane

POLOKWANE – Premier, Stanley Mathabatha officially welcomed the South African national soccer team, Bafana Bafana, and the Congo Brazzaville national team to Polokwane on Tuesday.

The two teams were in the city to participate in a 2015 African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier match, which was scheduled to take place at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex yesterday (Wednesday).

Mathabatha thanked the South African Football Association (Safa) for bringing the Afcon qualifier match to Limpopo, as this showed that the province was part of the bigger picture in football.

He thanked Limpopo residents for coming out in large numbers to support the national team.

Bafana Bafana beat the Absa Premiership team, Polokwane City 2-0 on Monday during a friendly match, which was played at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex.
