18 years behind bars for raping girl

A MAN was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment in the Mokerong court on 7 October for the rape of a 13 year old girl.

MOKOPANE – A MAN was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment in the Mokerong court on 7 October for the rape of a 13 year old girl.

The girl was coming from a softball practise when she met Simon Kekana in November 2013.

He requested to take a walk with her. Kekana grabbed the girl and demanded her cell phone, which she refused. He threatened the girl and dragged her to a deserted house where he raped her.

The girl’s aunt took her to the Police where a case of rape was reported.

In January the girl manage to identify Kekana at her homestead when he came to ask for forgiveness for his deeds.

He was arrested and a blood sample was taken and sent to forensic science laboratory.

In another case, the regional court of Mokerong sentenced a 50-year-old man of Mountain View to 16 years imprisonment for rape.

The the victim was a minor child of 14 years.

Mokgotloa requested the child to assist him with a DVD when he grabbed the girl and rape her.

The mother of the girl arrived and immediately reported the matter to the police.
