POLICE visibility has been heightened in and around the Elim business centre after a Somalian businessman allegedly stabbed and killed a resident in a brawl over a laptop computer deal on Thursday.

Waterval police spokesperson, Insp Kedibone Mabatha confirmed the incident.

“They agreed on the date of payment. When the deal went up in smoke, the deceased, Mpho Gift Sithole (23) went to the suspect at his spaza shop to find out why.

“An argument ensued between the two, and they started fighting. The Somalian man allegedly stabbed Sithole in the chest with a knife. He died on the way to the Elim hospital.

“The suspect was arrested on Monday and is expected to appear before in the Waterval magistrate’s court soon facing a charge of murder,” he said.

Police are patrolling the area after receiving a tip-off that angry residents want to burn the Somalian’s business down. Everything is under control,” Mabatha assured.
