Speed marketing a valuable exercise

A SPEED marketing workshop for Limpopo products was presented by the Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) in partnership with South African Tourism (SAT)

A SPEED marketing workshop for Limpopo products was presented by the Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) in partnership with South African Tourism (SAT), and the South African Tourism Services Association (SATSA) at Sun Meropa Casino and Entertainment World last Wednesday.

The workshop was attended by 12 leading tour operators from Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape who listened to five-minute presentations by 50 tourism-related establishments from Limpopo.

According to LTA acting chief executive officer, Seipati Tlaka, the speed marketing workshop would not only be beneficial to the various tourism products and establishments that attended, but would also go a long way in ensuring that the province could offer better tours and products to the people who visited the province while offering value-for-money holiday packages.

SATSA membership manager, Lizzie Makgotho said speed marketing was a valuable tool for any tourism agency.

SAT general manager, Neesha Padayachy, said the speed marketing workshop would assist businesses in the the tourism industry to get to know their business better.

“As the SAT we market South Africa as a whole for domestic and international tourists. The more the international tourists spend time in South Africa, the more they boost our economy and make a better life for all South Africans,” Padayachy said.

One of the tour operators who attended was Collin Thaver, director of Albatros Cape Town, who said he appreciated the opportunity the LTA had given the company. “The LTA has given us a good understanding of what the province has to offer, and the chance to network was also beneficial,” he said.
