Shane is ready to take on the PSL’s giants

WEARNE Football FC attacking midfielder, Hlomphile Shane Rampye believes he has a lot of experience in soccer, and is now ready to play for a Premier Soccer League team.

WEARNE Football FC attacking midfielder, Hlomphile Shane Rampye believes he has a lot of experience in soccer, and is now ready to play for a Premier Soccer League team.

With his take no prisoners attitude, complemented by talent and stamina, Shane says he is ready to make it big in soccer.

He started playing for Wearne FC early this year following a stint with Dangerous Bullet FC from Bochum.

CV speaks to Shane to learn more about him.

Where and when were you born?

I was born 23 years ago in Bochum.

When did you realise you have a love for soccer?

My love for soccer started when I was 11 years old, and I have not looked back since.

I later joined a local club, Dikwena FC before I moved to Dangerous Bullet. I also played for school teams in primary and high school.

When and how did you start playing for Wearne FC?

I joined the team this year when I started to work at WG Wearne.

What, according to you, makes a good midfielder?

You must be talented and have speed. Having passion is important.

What do you love the most about being a soccer player?

I love the fact that it keeps you fit and if you make it big, you can have a successful career.

What is your favourite Premier Soccer League (PSL) club?

Orlando Pirates.

Who is your favourite PSL player?

Orlando Pirates player, Oupa Manyisa.

Which PSL team do you want to play for before you hang up your boots?

Polokwane FC.

Your advice to fellow soccer players?

Let us not end each other’s careers prematurely due to poor and unnecessary tackles.

What is your take regarding the current state of Bafana Bafana?

I am happy that Shakes Mashaba is turning the national team into a formidable side that will be the pride of the nation.

I want to encourage people to support Bafana Bafana when they play against the Congo Brazzaville at the Peter Mokaba Stadium next Wednesday.
