SOULBENT The Genesis hosted a performing arts competition between Motlalaohle Secondary School and the Rampo Institute in Botlokwa recently.

According to Soulbent managing director, Muvhango star Millicent Makhado Mothiba, after learning the basics of the performing arts, learners from the two schools competed in production, writing, directing and acting items.

“Our aim is to empower young people in townships and rural areas to reach their full artistic potential by assisting them with information, advice and skills development.

“We are motivated to provide skills and information.

Limpopo has talent that needs to be developed so that young people can fulfil their dreams. We want to give back to the community in the form of knowledge, skills and information,” said Mothiba.

She said they wanted to emphasise the importance of education to the young people.

“Young people in Limpopo have the potential to do it all; produce, write, direct, act, dance and sing. We even discovered artists who can draw brilliantly,” she said.

Motlalaohle were the winners of the competition.
