Limpopo’s boerewors champion is crowned

The provincial rounds of the Checkers Boerwewors competition took place at Checkers Limpopo in the city last Saturday.

Joe F provided entertainment for the crowd, while the contestants braaied.

The contestants included Jordan Nkadimeng from Lephalale, France Mong from Welgedacht, Koos van Dyk from Polokwane, Thandi Mulaudzi from Polokwane and Wilhe-minah Shishenge from Giyani.

While the fires sizzled and Joe F sang, Simba the Lion had the children on their feet, dancing the day away.

Sponsors for this day included Simba, All Gold and Coca-Cola Fortune.

The winner will walk away with R2 000 cash, as well as the opportunity to go to Valley of the Waves in Sun City and win the grand prize of a Toyota Hilux 2.7 double-cab raised body raider.

Koos van Dyk emerged as the winner of the Limpopo round.

He will participate as a finalist in the 2014 Championship Boerewors Competition to be held in Sun City on October 4.
