Bikers crown their Miss Golden Oldie

At 09:00 bikers entered the premises on their bikes where they enjoyed a breakfast with the residents of Vergeet My Nie and Martha Hofmeyer.

Bikers that Care hosted their annual Golden Oldies function at Martha Hofmeyer Old Age Home on Saturday in conjunction with other bikers clubs and Lions International Polokwane.

At 09:00 bikers entered the premises on their bikes where they enjoyed a breakfast with the residents of Vergeet My Nie and Martha Hofmeyer.

There was a variety of food stalls, a flea market, as well as a beer garden. The highlight of the day was the crowning of Miss Golden Oldie.

This award went to Johanna Knoetze and Melita Ramodike was crowned first princess.

There was also a raffle, as well as lucky draws where the first winner received R3 000, the second winner received R2 000 and the third winner received R1 000.

There were also two trophies that went to Morkel Smith, better known as “Stretch”, and another biker, identified only as Malan. Stretch won the trophy for the nicest bike, while Malan won the trophy for the slow race.

Lynne van Balkom, one of the organisers, expressed Bikers that Care’s gratitude towards everyone who contributed to ensure the great success of the day:

“A big thank you to all the bikers that made this day such a huge success. Without you it would not have been possible,” said Lynne.
