‘Lock up these granny-killers’

RESIDENTS of Semenya village have warned that they expect justice to be done and no bail to be granted in the murder case of a 75-year-old woman and a five-year-old girl

RESIDENTS of Semenya village have warned that they expect justice to be done and no bail to be granted in the murder case of a 75-year-old woman and a five-year-old girl. They said the two men who stand accused of the murders, Kholofelo Moloto and Frans Baloyi should get the death penalty or spend the rest of their lives in jail.

Moloto and Baloyi appeared before the Seshego magistrate’s court on Thursday for their formal bail applications.

Villagers gathered in front of the court to say the men’s lives would be in jeopardy if they were granted bail.

The case was postponed to July 8 for further investigation and the men were remanded in custody.

The protesters said the men did not deserve to be part of any community and should rot in jail. They said they would continue their protests until the two men received life sentences for the alleged murders.
