No signs of leopard in Polokwane yet

POLOKWANE – The leopard that was spotted at the Coca-Cola Fortune manufacturing plant in Marmer Street, Magna Via, on Sunday, June 1 has disappeared without a trace.

The animal was spotted by the nightshift team at the plant, and video footage showed the animal walking on the premises.

Burckels Napo, spokesperson for the department of economic development, environment and tourism (Ledet) confirmed that the leopard was still missing and that the search for the animal continued.

“The leopard may have relocated because it sensed danger in its environment. Human encroachment causes so much noise that it will unsettle the leopard.

“A lack of food would be another factor. There have been no more sightings around the Bendor area reported,” Napo said.
