POLOKWANE – Christian Achievers Academy now boasts an Early Development Centre (ECD), which was opened at the start of the term.

The centre’s opening was celebrated last Friday, where the parents were entertained with a few musical items by the learners.

Situated on the school grounds, the centre includes five new classrooms, new bathrooms, a kitchen and a fully equipped playground complete with a tree house. The school has a capacity of 120 learners from three to six years, and there are 80 places left open.

“We found there was a need for the centre and started to build it in 2013. Our aim is to have no more than 25 children in a class to ensure the children get the individual attention needed to reach their full potential,” said Elsa Coetzee, the school’s co-owner and financial manager.

Some of the educational systems the school has to offer include Monkeynastix and Kindermusik. Monkeynastix is internationally recognised as a unique movement education programme for children aged one to eight, and deals with the children’s motoring skills. Kindermusik classes nurture young children’s development, as well as their musical development. In an effort to make sure the teachers have the ability to get the most out of the children, they are sent to early child development courses.

“There is no compromise when it comes to the education of children, and we think ahead to make sure the children who come here are ready to take hold of their future,” Coetzee said.

The principal, Norma Grant said it was her biggest privilege to be entrusted with the “jewels” that parents called their children.

Parents who are interested in enrolling their children in the early development centre can contact the school at (015) 291 2478 or send an e-mail to caaschool@lightofthenations.co.za.
