THE opening of a new administration block sponsored by a former learner was a joyous celebration for everyone at Khwevha Commercial School recently.
Former learner, Masha Mulaudzi, who donated the administration block also offered the school’s top three learners’ bursaries for next year.
The opening was attended by members of the School Governing Body (SGB), department of education officials, personnel, parents and learners.
Ntshengedzeni Mususumeli, a teacher, said they were extremely grateful for the new building.
“This is a motivation to the learners. We (school management) are relieved that now we will not experience a shortage of space,” Mususumeli said.
SGB chairperson, Langanani Mashau said: “We are so blessed to receive the administration block. We are also very happy that Mulaudzi has started a programme to fund the top learner. We have already talked to the learners and asked them to study hard and honour Mulaudzi,” he said.
The learners, represented by Khuthadzo Mukwevho (17), who is a top learner also expressed their gratitude.
“This means we should work hard in order to get our hearts’ desires so that we can put our school on the map,” she said.
She encouraged fellow learners to study hard and take education seriously.
