THE Kha Ri Gude programme will host a graduation ceremony at the Ngaoko Ramathlodi Sports Complex in Seshego on February 13.

Kha ri gude means “let us learn together” in TshiVenda, and the programme is an initiative of the department of education.

The initiative was launched in 2008 and teaches adult learners to read, write and calculate in their mother toungues.

Clifford Mokoena, Kha ri Gude supervisor, says more than 200 students will be graduating.

“The programme aims to fight illiteracy. We want our elders to read, write and calculate so they can sign documents and do their monthly budgets,” he says.
