Sports legend opens his heart to children

Lucas Radebe extended a helping hand to children at WF Knobel Hospital in Moletjie last Saturday.

FORMER Kaizer Chiefs defender and international soccer legend, Lucas Radebe extended a helping hand to children at WF Knobel Hospital in Moletjie last Saturday.

Radebe, who was accompanied by representatives of the Moletjie Sechaba Youth Development Centre, donated toys to the children in the paediatric ward.

He also donated autographed soccer balls and water bottles.

“I am very passionate about children, especially sick children in hospital. They need to be reassured they will get better,” Radebe said.

“I wish them a speedy recovery and good luck in their futures.”

He also told a young soccer star, who broke his leg while preparing for a tournament, to stay strong.

Matlou Seepa, one of the parents who was at the hospital, encouraged Radebe to continue helping those in need.

To show their gratitude some of the children sang for Lucas, while others recited poems.
