[IN PICTURES] Cassper Nyovest wows fans at Musica, Mall of the North
Famous hip-hop sensation, Cassper Nyovest, made a turn in the city on his way to perform in Venda on Friday to great delight of his fans.
POLOKANE – The star had a meet and greet with fans and shoppers at Musica, Mall of the North, where he signed their CDs while enjoying a friendly chat with his fans and posing for selfies.
Cassper recently launched his new CD, Thuto, which reached gold on the first day of its release. Both his previous albums reached platinum.
His real name is Refiloe Maele Phoolo and he was born in Mafikeng in 1990. Apart from being a recording artist, he is also a record producer.
He is a relatively young artist as he was a protege of the rapper HHP a few years ago.
In 2013 Cassper released Gusheshe, his first single from his debut album, Tsholofelo, which was released mid 2014. To attest to his talent and popularity in the industry, Cassper received nine nominations at the 2016 SA Hip Hop Awards.
“When I heard Cassper is coming to Polokwane, I nearly flipped. I took the day off from work to make sure I will not miss him,” explained an excited Lerato Phiri.
Following his performance in Venda, Cassper tweeted: “Performed Push Through the Pain for the first time out in Venda last night and the crowd blew my mind!”
