The idea behind the training run was to get all runners and walkers together to enjoy a morning of non-competitive training.

POLOKWANE – The Rhino Anti-Poaching Training Run hosted by the Polokwane Athletics Club kicked off at the PAC Club House in Dorp Street on Saturday 16 July where participants had an option of completing either a 5km or 10km course.

All fees collected from the race will be donated to the Skukuza Marathon Club during the Annual Skukuza Half Marathon later this year.

According to Johan van Vuuren, they organize this trial run once a year to raise funds. “The money that we raise will be used for the day to day running of the club and for their special projects. This is our way of giving back to the community.” he said.

After completing the course each participant received either a medal or a pocket badge.
