Weekend filled with sport
Citizens in and around the city can put their braai stands and cooler boxes in order as a lot of activities will take place in the city over the weekend.
POLOKWANE – Citizens in and around the city can put their braai stands and cooler boxes in order as a lot of activities will take place in the city over the weekend.
• On Friday, golfers will take to the fairway at the Oosskool invitational golf day taking place at the Polokwane Golf Club. All are welcome to come and relax as the club offers a scrumptious pub lunch in the afternoon.
• Parents and learners will be treated to an Afrikaans speech competition at Northern Muslim School Friday evening.
• On Saturday, golfers will compete in the Spur Amarillo betterball stableford format golf challenge. The LGU Biangular will be also be battling it out against Mpumalanga at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday. The tournament between the two rivals will carry on until Sunday.
• Athletes from across the country will participate in the 5 km Color Run at Mitchell House on Saturday. Athletes will be painted with various colours at certain stages of the race, so wear white for the biggest impact.
• Hockey enthusiasts are encouraged to gather at Hoërskool Pietersburg (PHS) to watch them compete on their home turf on Saturday.
• Ringball teams will be playing at the Ringball Club situated next to the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday. The games will be played from 07:00 until 09:00.
• Rugby fanatics in the city will get to see various rugby games played at Noordelikes rugby fields on Saturday. The games are expected to start at 13:00 and end at 17:00.
