Crowned as champions
THE u/13 Limpopo boys hockey team were crowned as champions at the Northern regional hockey tournament.
MOKOPANE – THE u/13 Limpopo boys hockey team were crowned as champions at the Northern regional hockey tournament held in Witbank from July 9 to 13 as they reign undefeated in their final against North West.
“Noah Mokonyane, Glen Monama and Madimetja Sekgobela are local heroes in my eyes, as they represent Mokopane and are now the champions of the tournament,” said a proud William Khumalo, the hockey team’s manager.
The team crushed Mpumalanga with 2-0 during their first match last Thursday and they reigned undefeated throughout the tournament except against North West who beat them by a point.
“We met the North West team again in the final on Monday and we challenged them head-on and won 9-8 in the eight second shoot out,” Khumalo proudly told Bosveld.
