POLOKWANE – Whenever you hear the word snow, you think of ice, cold weather and snowmen.

According to Wikipedia, snow is condensation in the form of flakes of crystalline water ice that falls from clouds.

It has an open and therefore soft, white, and fluffy structure, unless subjected to external pressure.

Snowflakes come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Review speaks gr. R learners at Noordjieland, asking them if they know what snow is, where it comes from and what colour it is?

These are some of their views, Caleb Mphahlele says snow is white and it comes from Cape Town. “If I had to change the colour of snow, I would make it blue,” he says.

Tshimollo Monyemoratho says if she had a magic stick, she would change snow into purple.

“I can play in the snow but wont eat it because it’s cold,” she says.

Masekane Pilusa agrees with his friends that snow is white. “Snow comes from the mountains in CapeTown,” he says.

Keitumetse Mothupi and Mahlatse Mogashoa both say that snow comes from the sky and when the sun shines the snow turns into water. “I would like to build a snow man and use a big carrot for the nose,” says Magashoa.
