Load shedding deaths at hospital

Two patients died yesterday when load shedding cut off their life-support machines

According to a press release the Limpopo DA has today (Friday) laid charges of criminal negligence against the Limpopo department of health at Polokwane police station.
This after two patients died yesterday when load shedding cut off their life-support machines.
Three patients were on ventilators at the Letaba Hospital near Tzaneen on Wednesday evening when load shedding was implemented in this area. Two of the patients died after a generator failed to start, after running out of diesel.
The DA has established that the faulty generator is a recurring problem at this hospital.
According to the DA, the health department is accountable and must put measures in place to ensure that all generators function all the time when needed.
