Interhouse fun at Mitchell House

Mitchell House learners gathered in the school's theatre on June 3 to have fun one last time before the exams start.

POLOKWANE – Mitchell House learners gathered in the school’s theatre on June 3 to have fun one last time before the exams start.

They were divided into three houses: Maytham, Hudson and Harmen.

Frederick Romijn, director of sports at Mitchell House, said: “there were 10 activities in which the groups participated. If a learner took part in one activity, they were not allowed to take part in another activity.”

The activities started with a general knowledge quiz, which Hudson won. There was a spelling bee competition which Hudson won again.

Harmen won the third activity, which required the learners to kick a ball through a mini soccer goal post, while Hudson won the fourth activity, which was throwing a ball through the net.

Maytham came into the game in the fifth activity, which was arm-wrestling, while Hudson won the egg and spoon race. Hudson also won the sprint race and Mayhem won the bag race. The wheelbarrow race was won by Harmen.

In the end Hudson won, Maytham came second and Harman third.
